iNaturalist Taiwan is a platform that integrates citizen science with professional research, enabling users to record and share biodiversity observations while creating spatiotemporal data on species occurrences. With AI-assisted image recognition and community expertise, the platform provides a collaborative species identification system that helps users accurately recognize the organisms they encounter. Beyond personal observations, participants can join or initiate citizen science projects, organize bioblitz events, and engage in ecological monitoring and community activities. iNaturalist Taiwan functions not only as an open biodiversity database but also as a dynamic community that fosters knowledge exchange, scientific research, environmental education, and policy support. By connecting nature enthusiasts, researchers, and conservation practitioners, it encourages public participation and strengthens collective efforts toward understanding and protecting biodiversity.
